Tangling with children is a beautiful and enriching experience for every Zentangle® teachers. Children unleash their creative potential in their unique way, and being a part of this process as an instructor is a gift. While the Zentangle method remains fundamentally the same for children and adults, there are many nuances to teaching children. In this seminar, we delve into these nuances comprehensively and cover the following topics:

• Lesson planning and structure
• Distinguishing between educational and therapeutic settings
• Teacher status
• Methodology / Pedagogy
• Age group specifications
• The use of color
• Z.I.A. (Zentangle Inspired Art) children projects
• Combinations with other techniques
• Marketing
• … and an abundance of inspiration

Seminar Schedule

The seminar will be conducted online via the “Zoom” application. You will receive a seminar package in advance, containing all the materials required for the modules. Each module will cover tried-and-tested tiles or projects, and the corresponding lesson plans will be provided afterward.

The seminar will consist of 6 modules, taking place on consecutive Tuesdays, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM CEST, on the following dates:

Each module will be recorded on video, and in case you miss a session, you can watch the recording for a limited time.

Seminar Fee

Participation fee for shipping within the EU: € 580 €*

Participation fee for shipping outside the EU: € 600 €*

Shipping outside the EU may incur customs duties and taxes, which the recipient is responsible for, as Tanglekunst Studio cannot assume these costs for organizational reasons. However, we strive to keep customs costs to a minimum.

Participant Requirements

• You are a CZT®.
• You speak and understand English.
• You should have a technical device with a camera and audio capabilities compatible with “Zoom.”
• Experience in working with children or teaching children is not required.

Participation Certificate

Upon request, a participation certificate can be provided. Please note, that this is NOT an official seminar or certification by Zentangle, Inc.

Tanglekunst Resources

Upon completing the seminar, you will gain access to Tanglekunst (TK) resources. Here, you’ll find a detailed script for all modules and access to a growing library of lesson plans and templates. With each subsequent “Tangling with Kids” seminar, these resources will continue to expand, and you’ll retain permanent access.

Instructors

Katharina Königsbauer, a CZT since 2015, has accumulated extensive experience teaching children. Between 2017 and 2021, she taught weekly children’s classes at a school. She has also introduced numerous children of all age groups to the Zentangle method at holiday camps, education centers, and children’s birthday parties – including her own two daughters.

The seminar is primarily led by Katharina. In addition, in one module, Nadine Vorster (art educator and art therapist) will share her knowledge from theory and practice with us.

After a successful registration, you will receive a confirmation email (from the sender tanglekunststudiokids@buytickets.at) with all further information.

The maximum number of participants is 20.

Cancellation

After the 14-day cancellation period following your booking, the seminar fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. However, we will make efforts to fill your spot with a new participant. If we can reassign your spot and you have not received the seminar package, we will refund the seminar fee minus a handling fee of 100 €. If we can reassign your spot, and you have already received the seminar package, we will refund the seminar fee minus 250 €.
